CRW Graphics received a certification from the
Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) in early September. As a result of this certification,
CRW may use the FSC logo on printed materials if the paper used is FSC certified.
CRW is now part of the FSC custody chain that includes forest management, pulp and
paper manufacturing, warehousing and distribution.
The mission of the Forestry Stewardship Council is to promote environmentally
appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s
forests. “As an environmentally conscious company, we are proud to be part of the FSC
movement to protect our world for future generations,” says Harriet Weiss, CEO
of CRW Graphics.
Environmentally appropriate forest management ensures that the harvest of timber
and non-timber products maintains the forest’s biodiversity, productivity and ecological
processes. FSC has been recognized as an international organization that provides a
system for different stakeholders interested in forest issues to work towards responsible
forest management.
As an environmentally conscious member of the community, CRW Graphics adheres to
all Federal, state and local EPA requirements. It routinely recycles all ink, plates and press
chemistry as well as reusing clean hot air exhaust from its digital presses to help heat its
plant in the winter months.
CRW Graphics is an award-winning, certified woman-owned commercial printer
